| We went all the way to California to find our beautiful Ruby Two. At the airport, she bounced happily out of that crate, ready for whatever came her way. A month later, she went to her first show, the WASCUNY Sparkler, and took BOSP!! After shedding some "baby fat", the next year Ruby's show career took off. By the end of the summer, Ruby had 4 majors and a single point....14 points towards her AKC Championship!!! We were so excited at the prospect of having our first champion!! It was never to be. Ruby's next heat was abnormal, and after a long consultation with our vet, it was decided to spay her. The pathology later showed that she had ovarian cancer. If we had decided to try to treat what we thought was pyometria, she would have never survived the year. Ruby loves to show, so she continues to have fun in ASCA Altered conformation. At the Heart Of New York 2005 Lake Effect show, Ruby went WB-BOW-BOB to earn her first ASCA points!! She has also done "pet therapy" at the Veterans Hospital in Syracuse. And, of course, Ruby still is Larry's red headed girlfriend!!! |   |
